Maine Coon cattery: Koci Wroclaw * PL

ABOUT US

Welcome to all animal lovers, especially cats :-). And even more especially - fans of Maine Coon cats. We have been running a small breeding farm for over 30 years and our cats are part of our world. Therefore, we have some experiences that we would like to share with people who love cats. Our cats are primarily family pets and the source of our joy ... the source of our pride and fascination with the cat type. We are fascinated by their grace, dexterity and perfection of shape. Our cattery is officially called Koci Wrocław * PL and is registered with the Polish Felinological Federation - Felis Polonia.

BREEDING

Everyone can see what Maine Coon is like ... that's why we decided not to duplicate the basic information about this breed, but to share the knowledge taken from everyday life. If you are interested, please refer to Wikipedia or specialist literature. Wiki link → → Maine Coon Wiki The oldest of our currently owned cat is Hania nee SzaryKot, called by us Mint. She was born in February 2020. Mint has become our love at first sight. Her white face, expressive, dark eyes with pale rims framed by a dark head and sweet ears with brushes - poured sweetness into our hearts. The introductory visit with the kitten only confirmed our first impression. Mint loves to be stroked, she is sensitive and delicate like a princess. However, she drastically changes when dhe decides to "go hunting". Then she becomes a real tigress and goes around the whole apartment, jumps on the window sills looking for birds on the branches, peeking at the walls or if he accidentally finds a stray fly, or accosts his feline friend to play. While brushing her long hair, she loves having her belly caressed with a brush. She loves accompany of all household members and willingly visits rooms where someone is at the moment. Our other two females - Atena and Aura are daughters of a mighty tomcat from Krakow: Urano AldonasGift. Our first male is Kermi. Kermi, he was born in June 2019 in Milan, Italy. When looking for a male for our breeding, we had a vision that he should be an intensely black cat and, like Mint, be intensely brindle and have black socks on its paws. We found such a kitten only in Italy. Kermi has grown into a large lion with a beautiful mane (ruff) and the character of a total hug. It is an incredibly gentle cat, it does not take offense, does not pull out its claws and does not bite while playing with us. At the same time, he is very talkative. This is a cat that hates being alone. He is the heart of the company and likes guests. Afternoon coffee drinking cannot be done without the presence of this laid-back super soft toy looking at us with its green eyes. We also have one more male, which is the son of a female Toffee, who lived with us all his life. She was a beautiful tortie and her son Amigo is a powerful, very intensely brindle Maine Coon. It's huge. Our friends once saw him and said that he was the size of four of their cats. Observing our cats in housing conditions, we notice that Maine Coons are cold-loving cats. A warm blanket tempts with softness, but a cool floor is better. Maine Coons do not shy away from water. They like to play with it, sprinkling water with a paw from a cat's fountain, and even enter the bathtub or shower when the water is pouring. They are heavy and do not jump higher than a window sill or table. They need sturdy seats for jumping on and off. Delicate furniture, such as a kitchen stool or coffee table, can easily tip over. They prefer to eat wet food from flat plates because in the bowls their long ruff becomes dirty with food. The menu of our cats is dominated by boiled and raw meat and dry food as an addition. We also try to be traditionalists in terms of the nutrition of our pets, which is reflected in the fact that our cats do not have problems digesting fat milk. These cats need everything in an XXL cat's size: a large litter box and more litter, a long window sill to stretch out, large bowls, an average of twice as much food and a really powerful and stable scratching post. They also have a long and very dense coat that two other cats could give. This hair must be carefully combed so that it does not form tangles. You also need rollers to collect cat's down from furniture and clothes. Maine Coons are perfect companions for people who sit often at home, who like the characteristic, quiet presence of a feline friend. They easily establish contact with household members and, as cats do - they will play with wild pleasure chasing a toy on a fishing rod. If the Maine Coon has to stay at home alone because, for example, you go out to work, it is better if they have accompany of other cats or dogs. Loneliness will not do them any good definatelly. .
